Sophie Plato Workshop - 1st July between 6:00pm and 7:00pm
We are delighted to offer a free workshop, led by Sophie Plato, a Movement and Wellbeing Coach, to support with knowledge, strategies and guidance in looking after ourselves as parents. A poster with further details of this exciting event is attached.
Sophie has a wealth of experience sharing her knowledge with major businesses and schools in the state and private sector. She also teaches Pilates in Hampshire and has led similar activities in Europe.
"My mission is to help create space within the human mind and nervous system to allow for conscious, proactive parenting rather than reactive, stressed-out parenting. It really does start with us. Feeling empowered and inspired to put our own health first, no matter our situation or circumstance, makes a huge difference in the way we perceive, interact with, and interpret our children and the world around us." Sophie Plato
There will be optional ‘movement’ activities at the end of the session after any FAQs. Drinks and nibbles provided. We will open the recreation ground for parking.
Thank you for those that have already emailed to secure a place, if you would like to attend please let us know by emailing the school office as soon as possible.
On the last day of term we held the Easter Fair – so much effort from the children, parents and staff – especially Miss Barnett to ensure the whole school community had a brilliant, sugar-fuelled send off for the well deserved Easter break.

Our Year 4 cohort performed their original compositional response to the River Meon on stage this week. The performance was part of the Wild Isles creative project inspired by WWF and Sir David Attenborough’s work. https://www.wwf.org.uk/wild-isles
Parents have already had the opportunity to see the children perform; this was the children’s opportunity to perform on a famous stage with ten other schools linked to the Winchester University / Grange Festival project. They were amazing and had the most incredible experience!
Following on from recently being successful with acquiring 10 tree saplings from the Tree Council, members of the Year 6 School Council and our Green Team, helped to plant trees on our school grounds this week.

An extensive case about the transformation of our school grounds appears in a landmark book on Sustainability and Climate Change and Outdoor Education in schools. The study highlights how we developed the grounds from a plain green space to an engaging outdoor space for learning and play. We have gained a lot of wider attention because of our work - including that with the South Downs National Park.
The book was also launched our school too!
Our Finance Officer, Mrs Sam Paine recently launched an Amazon wish list to invite parents to purchase resources for the school. Funds are tight at the moment due to reduced funding streams. This innovative strategy has given parents and the wider community the opportunity to make a difference. Thank you all so much. We continue to add to the list all the time.
The Drox car is being put through it's paces again in preparation for the 2024 season. The team of 10 (plus parents) are busying themselves for the completion at South Downs College later in the month. They are also building the second, yet two be named MK2 car.
